If you’re addicted to jokes, love stand up and think it would be fun to have the chance to give it a try yourself, this 1.5 hour workshop is definitely for you. Absolutely no experience is required for this activity – our instructor will lead you through the workshop and help you to hone your comedy skills until your ready to take the stage solo!

Our Workshops start with an explanation of the basics of stand up comedy performance

Then our instructor will discuss with you how to use comedy in your day to day life. For those who are involved in communications focused work, this is a fantastic opportunity to develop skills in presentation and inter personal communication. For those of you who just want to have fun, this is an awesome way to brush up on your joke skills. You’ll soon have your friends in tears of laughter with your new routine!

The Amsterdam Comedy Workshop will teach you all the skills necessary to perform great stand up. Our instructor will lead you through techniques in joke writing, stage presence, improvisation and delivery! He can even give you advice on dealing with hecklers – great for the next time one of your mates is giving you a hard time!

By the end of the workshop you will have developed a short routine you can show to your friends – it could even be the first step in an amazing comedy career! Participants can relax and warm up with their own sketches to try to bring out the laughs. Then there are fun games to play that will probably bring out the unseen sides of your group members!
