Since antiquity people use henna to dye skin, hair and fingernails. And also, fabrics such as silk, wool, and leather. It was historically used in the Arabian Peninsula, South Asia, Carthage and other parts of North Africa and the Horn of Africa. Henna paste is made from a tall shrub. However, it does not stain the skin until lawsone molecules are released by the Henna leaf. In many of the regions that people originally produced and used henna, bridal henna nights remain an important part of traditional wedding customs.
Our workshop instructor is a talented practitioner of henna body art, who will be able to tell you much more about this fascinating plant and its applications. The instructor provides you with some background on the ways people use henna. And then they show you some techniques and tricks and then you can create your own beautiful henna body art.
